Aquatic Plants

For 2020 the Circle Lake Improvement District not the CLA will be handling any in lake weed harvesting along with coordinating with residence that would like to have their shoreline weeds harvested.  Please click 2020 Shoreline Weed Harvest Request for detail on how to get signed up.

Our aquatic-plant project has involved both trying to get rid of the bad ones (weeds) and promote the good ones (native plants).

If  you want to mechanically cut your weeds the association has a mechanical weed cutter that can be used.  To defray cost we ask for a contribution to the association for its use.  Contact Keith Kluzak at 507-450-8550 cell or 507-645-0518 or keith_kluzak@yahoo.com to coordinate its use on your weeds. The deadline is June 14th.  In the past there also were hand held cutters you could borrow.  Unfortunately, we have lost track of them.  If you know where one might be please let us know so we can make it available to everyone.

The May early June time frame is the time to cut before the plants go to seed.  Also remember if you cut, to clean up (remove) the plants you cut from the lake.  Do not let them drift off and become an issue for your neighbors.
